Course Description | Emergency Mental Health: Clinical Practicum (CMHC 713) is an online theory course and a clinical practicum experience course. Learners will apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the CMHC 711 and CMHC 712 courses in an Emergency Mental Health (EMH) practice area. The focus of this course is employing a trauma and violence-informed approach when caring for individuals and families experiencing mental health and substance use (MHSU) conditions in EMH contexts of practice. During the practicum experience, learners will examine secondary stress related to mental health practice and workplace situations and develop a personal stress management and self-care plan. | ||
